MAXILLOFACIAL PROSTHETIST / RECONSTRUCTIVE SCIENTIST CERTIFIED CLINICAL ANAPLASTOLOGIST OCULARIST DIRECTOR, 3D PRINTING LAB

Eduardo is a Maxillofacial Prosthetist and Reconstructive Scientist, Board-Certified Clinical Anaplastologist and Ocularist with 13 years of experience in facial reconstructions. He specialises in facial and ocular rehabilitation using prosthetics, digital technologies, and innovations in medicine. Eduardo earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He completed his medical education at Universidad El Bosque, Facultad de Medicina in Bogotá, and pursued graduate education in facial prosthetics at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine Department of Art as Applied to Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Additionally, Eduardo holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Maxillofacial Prosthetics Rehabilitation from King’s College London in the UK.

He completed his clinical training at the JHU Facial Prosthetics Clinic and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Eduardo works in private practice at WCBL in Tampa, FL, and collaborates closely with the University of South Florida (USF) and Tampa General Hospital (TGH). Worked ten years as a Clinical Anaplastologist and Ocularist at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Department of Plastic, Cosmetic, and Reconstructive Surgery. During his UIC tenure, he created was the director of the 3D Printing Lab at the Surgical Innovation Training Lab (SITL). Eduardo owns and practices at the Medical Arts Clinic in Chicago, IL, and Tampa, FL.

Eduardo is internationally recognised and often invited to present his research at various congresses in countries such as Italy, Sweden, Portugal, India, and the United Kingdom. He has a passion for medical missions and humanitarian work. He is an active member of several international maxillofacial and reconstructive associations.

His original research has been published in major medical peer-reviewed journals, and he has contributed to numerous book chapters in plastic surgery publications.
